My goal this quarter is to complete a Men's Pro Hyrox Competition in under 70 minutes! I will be competing in Vancouver, Canada on December 20th, 2025.
The stakes for me are: if I succeed, I will donate $250 to GiveDirectly.org
If I fail, I will buy a pack of cigarettes and smoke one on camera...gotta love a negative incentive!
β My progress:
I completed a Men's Open division Simulation at a gym in Seattle and got 64 minutes, 20 seconds, on November 22nd.
And in a self-paced Simulation on base, December 12th, I got 71 minutes 3 seconds with a Men's Pro division weight stack. So 2 minutes off my goal.

Trenches were dug, steps ups were stepped.

This month (December):
This month did NOT have a group charity challenge event. But it did have a Fitness Contest.
December 7th, 1941 is termed "Pearl Harbor Day," so the competition was a swim. A swim to remember the sailors lost at sea that day during the attack on Hawaii by the Japanese.
The swim is 1,941 yards, for the year the attack happened.
We had 3 successful swimmers!
1) Craig (took him about 40 minutes)
2) Abe (took about 60 minutes)
3) Lindsay (took about 75 minutes)
They will EACH get a FREE quarter in the "Champions League" (fitness coaching) for Q1 2026. Congratulations gang.

January IS another Charity Challenge month. Meaning we get out TOGETHER as a group and try to do the thang.
This is a RUN heavy one.
Martin Luther King Jr. marched from Selma >> Montgomery, Alabama (54 miles) in 1965 for the Voting Rights act, that granted African Americans the right to vote.
So to honor that effort (which he did in 5 days), I will do 54 miles of running/walking in under 54 hours!
My gameplan is 7 x 5,000 meters on Saturday, 7 x 5,000 meters on Sunday and walk the rest on Monday (MLK Jr. Day)
I will have a Google Sheets of the start times from Ruston I will be running, if you want to sign up to run/walk part if it with me.
Basically 7 am, 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, 3 pm, 5 pm, 7 pm will be the slots, I will run a 5k and then recover for 1 hour and 30 minutes until the next one!
Entry ticket sales will help support the "Southern Christian Leadership Conference," which MLK Jr. was co-president of in his lifetime.
Remember, the first finishers will get a FREE TriumFit commemorative coin (if they register for the challenge below with a full entry ticket). There are 9 silver and 9 gold coins left!

"TriumFit and Chill" is now "Bear Crawl Club." A bi-monthly group fitness challenge and social hang in Tacoma, WA. Read about the origins of this group below.
I am already 1.75 miles of Bear Crawling in! Close to my first badge "Koala" :)
