TriumFit Tues News #24πŸ†

Count down to 2025-03-24T11:00:00.000Z

What's good Reader,

Referral Reward: Refer "TriumFit TuesNews" to just 3 friends & get one of my training plans for free ($20-$35 value). Just reply to this email with subject line: "Newsletter referrals" and list the emails of your 3 amigos, and I will add them manually! (Ideally you tell them how awesome it is first, of course...)

Now you have a proper training plan and the body you want with your swagger back.

My company is built around challenges.

Physical challenges.

But also mental challenges.

Because you cannot easily separate the mind from the body.

In this newsletter I promised you behind the scenes access to the "Chief Challenge Officer" (me)

Noah Kagan's book "Million Dollar Weekend" (MDW) has been a revelation for me.

It stirred a deep entrepreneurial drive I haven't felt before.

What better way to document my OWN journey, than by doing his 34-step business challenge checklist. (see how meta this is?)

This will be my accountability to you, dear reader, to show you how the plane is built... in mid air.

Finger's crossed this isn't a Boeing 737, and the doors actually stay on the whole time.

But if they don't, I'm going down with the ship, as your loyal captain.

____________________________________________________________

Because last weeks MDW Challenge is technically still running (it was a sales challenge over 30 days) I will just update how that's going and plan for the next two weeks, until it finishes ~1st week of April.

The challenge was to write out a grid of marketing outlets and expected sales. It looked something like this:

"30-Day Marketing Experiments (Expected sales), ending first week of April...

  1. Guest feature on health related podcasts, I am setting up a "PodMatch" account now (4 sales)
  2. Instagram DM's on "hybrid athlete" channels (10 sales)
  3. Leaving a flyer at local gyms, like Fitness Quest, 24 fitness, etc (2 sales)
  4. Post about it in my newsletter, yay for you guys (3 sales, c'mon yall help a dude out)
  5. Post in my F3 group, F3 is a rugged men's workout group and Slack channel that is nationwide (6 sales)

Total expected sales: 25 in 30 days.

WILL I DO IT?!?!

Time to make some flyers, send some rando's DM's and pray to Je-bus."

Guest Feature on Podcasts (PROGRESS UPDATE)

  1. I did get guest featured on a podcast from Mission 22 and an old connection I had through "The Strenuous Life's" program with Marcus Farris. I have been releasing some of the clips on my Instagram. But if you want to listen to the FULL interview, here it is.
video preview

(0 sales so far, but it's good content)

2. Instagram DM's (PROGRESS UPDATE)

So far I have sent out ~150 DM's. I sent out my flyer for the upcoming "Bringer of the Bells" event with the question: "Are you ready for a new challenge?"

I initially targeted people who are fans of Cesar Chavez on Instagram, I tried the "United Farm Workers" page specifically.

But then I thought those people might not be into fitness. So I went to the CRUNCH Fitness Tacoma and GritCity Wellness pages (local health clubs in WA) and DM'd 100+ of those people. Because they are local AND into fitness.

Result 3 sales and 1 strong maybe. The 3 sales were DM's to friends though, no complete strangers bought in yet.

3. Leaving flyers at local gyms (PROGRESS UPDATE)

I left a flyer at Fitness Quest in the men's locker room. A flyer at Crunch Fitness, and a flyer at Armor Athletics (crossfit). I also went to a "Tacoma Connect" networking event. Shoutout Asaph who is running those bi-monthly. Lowkey-highkey those are going to be CLUTCH, because I am getting better at my "elevator pitch" with total strangers. So I brought like 10 flyers to that event to hand out. I will go to another one tomorrow as well.

So far 0 sales this way.

4. Posting about it in my newsletter (PROGRESS UPDATE)

Nada, ain't no loveeeeee. It's ok. I get it. Nah, actually, I don't get it. Support a brotha! For real for real. Goal is 3 sales from the newsletter.

I know ~40 of you open these emails. I know exactly who opens these emails, heheheh.

So far 0 sales this way.

5. Posting about it in the F3 Slack Channel (PROGRESS UPDATE)

I led the latest workout and gave a mini presentation about the upcoming challenge. I still think I can get a couple of the guys to do it. But I will see them again Saturday. I did post the flyer above in their "events" page.

So far 0 sales this way.

So that wraps up the 2 week progress update. 3 solid sales. 1-3 interested parties. But yea, not exactly close to the 25 goal at the moment.

I don't know if DM's are really worth it, I have been diving more into the PodMatch platform and messaging/matching with hosts, hopefully that turns into air time.

β€œTriumFit Transparency” where we talk progress and problems:

Tyler’s progress towards his 2025 TriumFit growth goals:

A) 8 of 100 challenge sign ups (up 3 since last newsletter)

B) 74 of 1,000 newsletter subscribers (up 1 since last newsletter)

Tyler's problems to overcome:

A) My selfie stick broke last week. A tear was shed. But thanks to Amazon, I will survive.

B) There was a little glitch on the mobile view of my email capture for the 2025 TriumFit Event Calendar. Thankfully Allie noticed and I fixed it.

PSA: if you ever find a "broken" link or something odd in the TriumFit Universe, PLEASE tell me. I am trying to make the user interface and experience as straight forward as I can.

E.g. Justin Wade told me he was confused if my training plans were somehow tied to the challenges. Like, did he have to film himself doing them? So I edited the bottom of the newsletter for clarity.

Those tips are GOLD for me as a solopreneur. I can't see my own blindspots of what makes sense for the user if I have no feedback to play with.

In this episode we have...

1) Matt - he is an awesome dude I have known since ~January this year when I joined the F3 crew in Point Defiance. F3 is a men's fitness movement where you train in horrid conditions outdoors, because it's hard. Right up my alley tbh. Props Matt on the strength work!

2) Easton - he got a Century ride in on Zwift. I never did Zwift, but I have done a few Century rides in my life. My ass is forever thankful I gave that sport up...

3) Andreas - she got some lucky St. Patty's day miles in, I dig the outfits!

4) Seumas - I selected this because it says "ghouls and goblins." Yo, I have never had a ghoul pace me on a run, but honestly, I am not opposed to the idea..

5) Ryan - well his hands HAVE officially left the chat. They have seen better days. Funny it wasn't Sabrina featured AGAIN, someone always be losing hand skin these days on my Strava, what is up!?!

6) Justin - he tackled the LA Marathon! That was EXACTLY my pace in my first marathon too (untrained of course because I'm a bloody idiot). Way back in 2017. Ohh what a young dumb lad I was. Anyway, PROPS JUSTIN! LA changed the course this year, wonder how that affected everyone.

"The People's Poll" TriumFit's random queries to the community:

This segment was inspired by a previous project of mine: "Tyler Talks to Strangers," where I would interview random people on the street. Fun times. But my curiosity is endless, so now I get to query YOU!

This weeks poll was...

Would you rather be PERMANENTLY transported 500 years into the future, or 500 years into the past?

WOW. That was a close one. Interesting to see the results.

Most of my white friends selected the past, while most of my black friends said the future...

I'm over here "mixed" race, and I can't decide. I think the future if you had a gun to my head. I am more interested in where humanity is going as a species. Will we truly become inter-planetary??

I am a HUGE Interstellar-head (shoutout my boy Derice), so the idea fascinates me.

"Tyler's TriumFit Tuesday Tip" where I share some wisdom:

19. Your body is the most dialed in machine if you keep the engine going. Push you limits. Surprise yourself.

"Clear the Calendar" where we look forward to the next challenge:

The next challenge is "Bringer of the Bells," TriumFit's Cesar Chavez Tribute.

Last year I walked 106 lbs of kettlebells all of 2.8 miles. It was epic. It was fun. It hurt. It was sunny skies. It was all the things I love. This one was special because some of the "Meaningful Conversations" group in Tacoma came out to support. One of the first times I was like hmmmm, maybe more people could be in to this type of thing...

The window to complete it this challenge is March 24th through April 7th.

Here is the Facebook group to confirm attendance! (optional)

I will be committing to do the "Bringer of the Bells" on Sunday March 30th proper, at ~2:30 pm. If you are in the Seattle-Tacoma area, make the trek out! We can get beers after and talk about life. I did it at the Chambers Bay Labyrinth last year, and it was perfect! I am doing it again there this year.

Location: Chambers Bay Labyrinth

(Chambers Creek Rd W, University Place, WA 98467)

Time: 3/30/25 at ~2:30 pm

What to bring: dumbbells, kettlebells, a hex bar with weights, or any odd object that weighs roughly 1/4 (silver division) to 1/2 (gold division) your bodyweight.

CHECK OUT THE PROMO I MADE BELOW!

There is no time limit on this one! And first 10 silver and 10 gold division athletes will get a FREE TFC Commemorative Coin.

Here is the history of the challenge below.
